AT A GLANCE

Beginning in late 1990, a sustained pattern of large triangular craft sightings along Nevada's Interstate 15 corridor and near the Nevada Test Site emerged. Rachel, Nevada — adjacent to Area 51 — became a hub for witnesses. Highway Patrol logs documented hundreds of sightings over months.

DECLASSIFIED DETAILS

Beginning in December 1990, a sustained wave of large triangular craft sightings unfolded along Nevada's Interstate 15 corridor and in the vicinity of the Nevada Test Site and Nellis Range Complex. Nevada Highway Patrol officers filed multiple official incident reports. The tiny town of Rachel, Nevada — closest civilian community to the classified test ranges — became a hub for witnesses as locals and travelers on Highway 375 (later designated the 'Extraterrestrial Highway') reported craft that dwarfed any known aircraft, hovering silently over the desert or moving slowly without sound. Researcher Glenn Campbell relocated to Rachel in 1993 to document the ongoing sightings. Multiple witnesses including military dependents, truckers, and civilians described near-identical triangular craft with three equally spaced lights and a central glow. The sightings were contemporaneous with the wider national triangle wave being documented by NIDS (National Institute for Discovery Science). A classified USAF assessment connected the Nevada sightings to the broader national pattern rather than explaining them as classified USAF test aircraft, though the USAF's official public position maintained the opposite.

Eglin AFB Triangle Overflight 1989

Eglin Air Force Base, Florida

A massive equilateral triangle hovered over Eglin AFB's classified research ranges for 35 minutes. F-15 interceptors were scrambled but pilots reported communications and weapons systems failures during approach. The craft departed vertically with no sound or exhaust signature.

USS Nimitz Atlantic Triangle Events 2017

Atlantic Ocean, Virginia Capes area

During pre-deployment workup exercises off the Virginia Capes, USS Theodore Roosevelt airwing pilots encountered triangular UAP on multiple days. The encounters produced the Gimbal and GoFast FLIR videos subsequently authenticated by the Pentagon. East Coast NORAD tracked anomalous contacts in the operating area.
