AT A GLANCE

A large disc-shaped object was tracked over the Mururoa nuclear test atoll by multiple intelligence assets during a period of French nuclear testing. US monitoring stations and Australian signals intelligence confirmed the contact. The object appeared to enter the restricted airspace coinciding with scheduled test detonations.

DECLASSIFIED DETAILS

In September 1988, during a period of French nuclear atmospheric and underground testing at Mururoa Atoll, a large disc-shaped object was tracked by US monitoring stations, French Navy vessels, and Australian Defence Signals Directorate assets. The object maintained a 30-minute hover at approximately 60,000 feet above the most restricted nuclear test zone before departing at extreme speed. US Strategic Air Command's monitoring network filed a classified incident report, and the French DGSE coordinated with American intelligence to analyze the contact. The timing — coinciding with scheduled test operations — suggested purposeful observation of nuclear activity consistent with UAP behavior documented at other nuclear test sites globally, including Nevada, Semipalatinsk, and Lop Nur. The incident was shared in classified channels as part of broader Five Eyes nuclear site UAP activity intelligence exchange, adding to a body of evidence suggesting UAP demonstrated consistent interest in nuclear weapons programs.

KEY CHARACTERISTICS
  • Nuclear test site targeting pattern
  • 60,000-foot sustained hover
  • Multi-national intelligence confirmation
  • Five Eyes intelligence shared
  • Nuclear monitoring correlation

Westall School UAP — 200 Witnesses, Australian Dept of Air

Westall High School, Clayton South, Victoria, Australia

Approximately 200 school students and teachers observed a disc-shaped craft descend, land briefly in a field adjacent to Westall High School, and then depart at high speed. Five smaller craft were also observed. The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) responded and reportedly confiscated grass samples and directed witnesses not to speak about the incident. The Australian Dept of Air classified the investigation. Students and teachers report being told to sign confidentiality agreements.

Woomera Rocket Range UAP Incidents — Australian Dept of Air

Woomera Rocket Range, South Australia

Multiple unidentified craft were observed and tracked on radar over the top-secret Woomera Rocket Range in South Australia between 1954 and 1956. The range housed joint Australian-British-American missile testing programs. Australian Dept of Air SECRET reports, later declassified, document RAAF radar tracking of objects at extreme altitudes performing maneuvers beyond any known aircraft. British Ministry of Supply personnel and US Army observers filed corroborating reports.
