STS-51 Shuttle Mission UAP 1993

During Space Shuttle Discovery's STS-51 mission in September 1993, NASA cameras aboard the orbiter captured multiple unidentified objects maneuvering near the spacecraft at 160 nautical miles altitude. The objects, appearing as bright spherical contacts against the black of space, executed course changes that are inconsistent with the behavior of orbital debris or ice particles — the standard NASA explanation for similar phenomena. One object was tracked making a distinct 90-degree course change before accelerating away at high speed. Mission Control communications regarding the sighting were partially released under FOIA requests. The footage has been analyzed by multiple independent researchers including former NASA scientists who have noted that the objects' maneuvers require propulsion capable of operating in the vacuum of space.
