DECLASSIFIED DETAILS

Over the evening of April 18, 1990, a massive wave of sightings of large triangular craft swept through the Buffalo–Niagara Falls region of western New York. Buffalo Police received over 300 calls in a two-hour window, dispatching multiple units to observe. The most credible witnesses included officers from Buffalo PD, Cheektowaga PD, and New York State Police who observed large silent triangular craft with bright lights at each vertex moving slowly at 500–1,500 feet altitude. A WBEN-TV news crew on assignment captured footage of the objects on broadcast-quality video cameras. The craft were estimated at 300–500 feet per side and made no sound despite their size. The FBI's Buffalo field office, operating under standing orders regarding anomalous aircraft near critical infrastructure (the Niagara Falls power grid and nuclear plants), investigated and filed classified reports. The wave was one of the most widely witnessed events in the northeast US during the 1989–1991 wave of triangular craft sightings, comparable in scale to the Belgian triangle wave occurring simultaneously in Europe.

KEY CHARACTERISTICS

Navajo Nation Reservation UAP Wave 1994

Navajo Nation, Arizona/New Mexico/Utah

Navajo Nation tribal police filed formal reports. Navajo Nation Council members raised the encounters with state law enforcement. The FBI Phoenix field office received reports. The geographic concentration across the sacred Navajo territory gave the wave cultural as well as security significance.
