AT A GLANCE

One of the most detailed South American UAP close encounters on record. The Moreno family at a remote Tucumán Province ranch observed multiple disc-shaped craft hovering at ground level, emitting brilliant white beams that passed through the ranch buildings. A smaller craft emitted tubes of mist and a sulfurous odor. Physical evidence included scorched earth, crushed vegetation, and physiological effects on witnesses including temporary vision impairment.

DECLASSIFIED DETAILS

On October 21, 1963, the Moreno family at their ranch in Trancas, Tucumán Province experienced one of the most extraordinary and well-documented close encounter events in South American UAP history. At approximately 9pm, ranch worker Dora Martínez noticed brilliant lights approaching across the fields. Multiple saucer-shaped craft were observed — some hovering at heights of 10 to 50 feet — emitting brilliant white beams through the walls of the ranch buildings. A smaller craft emitted tubes of whitish mist and a strong sulfurous odor. The craft illuminated the entire farm as if it were daylight. After approximately 45 minutes, the craft ascended rapidly and disappeared. Physical evidence was extensive: burned circular marks in the soil, crushed and dried vegetation in landing zones, and traces of an unknown white powder. All seven family witnesses suffered eye irritation and temporary vision impairment. Several also reported weakness and nausea in the days following. The Argentinian Air Force investigated and was unable to explain the physical evidence. The case remains one of the best-documented South American UAP encounters.

KEY CHARACTERISTICS
  • 7 witnesses including entire Moreno family and ranch workers
  • Multiple craft hovering at near-ground altitude for 45 minutes
  • Beams penetrated solid ranch building walls
