Zimbabwe Ariel School Encounter 1994

On September 16, 1994, during a morning break at Ariel School in Ruwa, Zimbabwe, sixty-two children between the ages of 5 and 12 reported observing a disc-shaped craft land in the brush adjoining the school grounds while their teachers were in a faculty meeting. The children described humanoid figures approximately four feet tall with large eyes who approached to within thirty feet of the children. Multiple children reported receiving mental imagery from the beings conveying environmental concern themes. BBC journalist Tim Leathwood arrived later that day and filmed initial interviews with the children. Harvard Medical School psychiatrist Dr. John Mack traveled to Zimbabwe and spent three days conducting in-depth psychiatric evaluations of the children. Mack concluded that the children were not lying, not suffering from group hysteria, and appeared to be recalling a genuine shared experience.
