AT A GLANCE

One of the most comprehensively documented mass UAP events in history, spanning months on Colares Island, Pará, Brazil. Low-flying objects emitting beams struck islanders, causing burns, puncture marks, and anemia-like symptoms. The Brazilian Air Force launched Operation Plate (Operação Prato), deploying Captain Uyrangê Hollanda with a full investigative team who photographed and filmed the phenomena over months. Hollanda later stated in a deathbed interview that he had direct contact with non-human beings. Over 70 official photos and films were captured.

DECLASSIFIED DETAILS

Beginning in July 1977 and continuing through December, the island of Colares in the Marajó Bay of Pará State, Brazil experienced a prolonged mass UAP event that overwhelmed the local population. Hundreds of islanders were struck by beams from low-flying objects — the beams caused immediate burning pain, left scorch marks and puncture wounds on the skin, and victims developed symptoms consistent with radiation exposure including hair loss and severe anemia. Some victims required hospitalization. The island population was reported to be in a state of panic and flight. The Brazilian Air Force responded by launching Operation Plate, deploying Captain Uyrangê Hollanda and a team with cameras, instrumentation, and instructions to document the phenomenon. Over months of documentation, the team captured approximately 70 photographs and several films of the objects, which performed transmedium maneuvers (entering and exiting the water) and demonstrated apparent intelligence in their behavior. Hollanda's team filed detailed reports. The Brazilian government classified the Operação Prato materials for decades. In a 1997 interview conducted not long before his death, Captain Hollanda stated that his team had not merely observed craft, but had direct contact with beings that communicated with him. The Operação Prato case is considered one of the most extensively documented government UAP investigation cases in the world, combining civilian physiological casualties with military photographic documentation and official government classification.

USS Trepang SSN-674 — Arctic UAP Photographs

Arctic Ocean, North Pole region

A series of photographs taken from the USS Trepang (SSN-674) nuclear submarine while operating in the Arctic Ocean show unidentified disc-shaped and cigar-shaped objects near the sea surface and ice. The photographs were classified SECRET. Declassified versions were released by researcher John Greenewald via FOIA and authenticated by naval historians. They show objects displaying transmedium behavior — transitioning between air and water.
