AT A GLANCE

During the July 11, 1991 total solar eclipse over Mexico City, thousands of residents who had set up cameras to film the eclipse inadvertently captured the same stationary silver disc hovering at altitude. Over 17 independent videos from different locations and angles captured the same object. Mexican TV network Televisa aired the footage. The simultaneous independent recordings from different locations remain unexplained.

DECLASSIFIED DETAILS

On July 11, 1991, Mexico City experienced a total solar eclipse, and tens of thousands of residents prepared cameras and video equipment to document the celestial event. During the eclipse, a stationary silver disc was visible at high altitude above the city. Due to the eclipse preparations, the event was captured on video by an extraordinary number of independent witnesses in different locations across the city — over 17 separate video recordings from different positions and angles captured the same object simultaneously. Mexican television network Televisa collected and broadcast the footage, creating what remains one of the most widely-circulated UAP mass sighting events in the Western Hemisphere. The simultaneous independent capture from geometrically different positions across a large urban area allowed researchers to triangulate the object's approximate position and altitude. No conventional explanation accounted for the simultaneously captured stationary object.

KEY CHARACTERISTICS
  • 17+ independent video recordings from different locations
  • Thousands of witnesses pre-positioned with cameras for eclipse
  • Televisa national broadcast — major media acknowledgment
  • Geometric triangulation possible from multiple positions
  • Simultaneous independent recordings rule out hoax
  • Largest simultaneously documented UAP sighting in Mexico

Gimbal UAP — Rotating Object Against the Wind

U.S. East Coast (Atlantic), ~100 miles offshore

An F/A-18 Super Hornet ATFLIR pod captured a disc-shaped object visibly rotating against the direction of wind at 25,000 feet. The object moved into the prevailing wind and appeared to rotate continuously with no visible means of propulsion. DoD officially released the FLIR footage in 2020; AARO lists it as unresolved.

Coyne Army Helicopter Near-Miss Over Ohio

Mansfield, Ohio, USA

An Army Reserve UH-1 helicopter crew of four had a near-collision with a large grey metallic object over Mansfield, Ohio. The object stopped the helicopter's controlled descent and the aircraft inexplicably climbed 2,000 feet with no crew input. The incident is regarded as one of the most credible military UAP cases in the official record due to the four-person trained military crew and corroborating ground witnesses.

Pinecastle Air Force Base Sighting 1952

Pinecastle Air Force Base, Florida

A USAF B-29 crew returning to Pinecastle observed a large disc that executed a series of aerobatic maneuvers before hovering stationary as the bomber passed beneath it. Tower operators confirmed the radar contact. The disc paced the B-29 for several minutes before ascending vertically at extreme speed.
