AT A GLANCE

Israeli Air Force F-16Is were scrambled to intercept an unidentified contact at 60,000 feet over the Negev Desert near the Dimona nuclear research center. The contact outperformed the F-16I at extreme altitude. Israeli air defense classified the encounter. Details emerged through a former IAF officer speaking to Israeli defence journalists in 2022.

DECLASSIFIED DETAILS

On July 8, 2015, Israeli Air Force F-16I Sufa fighters were scrambled from Nevatim Air Base after Negev air defense radar detected an unidentified contact at 60,000 feet altitude near the Dimona Nuclear Research Center — Israel's sensitive nuclear facility in the Negev Desert. The F-16I crews achieved brief radar contact at altitude margins of the aircraft's operational ceiling. The object demonstrated ability to operate at altitudes exceeding the Sufa's practical ceiling. When the aircraft reached the extreme altitude margins, the contact performed a rapid departure that Israeli radar showed as an acceleration to well above Mach 4. The encounter was classified by the Israeli Defense Forces. Details emerged in 2022 when a former IAF officer spoke to Israeli defense journalists under conditions of anonymity. The proximity of the encounter to the Dimona nuclear facility drew comparison to documented US cases of UAP incursions over nuclear facilities.

KEY CHARACTERISTICS
  • Over Dimona nuclear research center — Israel's most sensitive nuclear site
  • 60,000 feet — beyond practical F-16I ceiling
  • Acceleration tracked at Mach 4+ on Negev radar
  • IAF classified immediately — emerged via former officer 2022
  • Pattern consistent with documented nuclear facility incursions
  • Israeli nuclear sensitivity made immediate classification certain

Gulf War UAP Reports — USCENTCOM Operational Records

Kuwait, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia theater of operations

During Operation Desert Storm, US and Coalition combat aircrews filed multiple reports of unidentified objects in the operational theater. USCENTCOM records, partially declassified, document objects that appeared on radar but did not match the transponder signatures of any Coalition aircraft. Several fighter pilots reported intercept attempts. The objects performed maneuvers that exceeded the capabilities of any known aircraft in the theater.

MQ-9 Reaper Donut-Shaped UAP — Middle East 2023

Middle East — USAF MQ-9 operational area

A USAF MQ-9 Reaper drone operating in the Middle East captured FLIR footage of a donut or torus-shaped metallic object hovering at altitude in 2023. The footage was included in AARO briefing materials and was among the cases presented to congressional oversight staff. The object appeared to have a hole through its center and metallic surface properties visible on infrared imaging.
