In June 2019, a 15-page document described as notes taken by astrophysicist Dr. Eric Davis recording a 2002 conversation with retired DIA Director Admiral Thomas Wilson began circulating in UAP research circles. In the notes, Wilson allegedly described meeting with program managers of a Special Access Program involving recovered non-human origin craft and material, and being denied access despite his senior rank. Researchers traced the document to the estate of Apollo astronaut Dr. Edgar Mitchell, where it was found after his 2016 death. Journalist Tim McMillan confirmed the document's provenance. Dr. Davis subsequently acknowledged the document existed and that meetings with senior officials had occurred. Admiral Wilson denied the specific claims. US Army anti-aircraft batteries fired 1,400 rounds at an unidentified object hovering over Los Angeles. The object was illuminated by searchlights for over an hour and did not fall. The Secretary of the Navy attributed it to 'war nerves'; the Secretary of War stated a physical object was present. The official explanation remains contradicted by its own chain of command.

Two Exeter police officers and a civilian witness observed a massive, low-flying object with a ring of red pulsing lights hovering at treetop level and silently maneuvering for approximately 45 minutes.
