DECLASSIFIED DETAILS

On June 22, 1976, a massive sphere of brilliant blue-white light appeared over the Canary Islands and was simultaneously observed by the Spanish Navy frigate Atrevida, Spanish Air Force personnel at Gando Air Base, and hundreds of civilians across multiple islands. The sphere remained stationary at high altitude, then emitted a smaller object that descended independently. General Carlos Castro Cavero, Commander of Spanish Air Forces in the Canaries, filed an official military report describing the encounter and calling for investigation. The Spanish Air Ministry retained the report classified for seventeen years before partial declassification in 1993. The encounter was notable for the simultaneous multi-platform military and civilian observations across a wide geographic area, making misidentification explanations difficult. It remains one of Spain's most significant official UAP cases.

WWII Foo Fighters — Allied Pilot Reports

Rhine Valley, Germany / Western Europe

Allied aircrews flying combat missions over Europe beginning in late 1944 reported glowing orange and white orbs that paced their aircraft, performed rapid maneuvers, and resisted interception. Declassified USAAF and RAF intelligence files confirm systematic reporting across multiple squadrons. OSS and USAAF intelligence ultimately ruled out German or Japanese origin.
