AT A GLANCE

In the hours before and after the famous Chelyabinsk meteor on February 15, 2013, Russian air defense reported multiple unidentified contacts in the Chelyabinsk Oblast airspace that were distinct from the meteor. Russian Air Defence Forces and civilian witnesses in the region had been reporting anomalous lights for the preceding 48 hours. The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations and Russian Air Defence officially investigated the pre-meteor anomalous contacts.

DECLASSIFIED DETAILS

The Chelyabinsk meteor event of February 15, 2013 was one of the most-recorded natural events in history. However, Russian Air Defence Forces and civilian witnesses in Chelyabinsk Oblast reported anomalous aerial lights and objects in the region for approximately 48 hours preceding the meteor impact. Multiple witnesses reported unidentified objects that were clearly distinct from the meteor — appearing before the meteor, on different trajectories, and behaving unlike meteoric phenomena. Russian Air Defence initially tracked multiple contacts in the region. The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations received numerous reports from the civilian population that predated the meteor. Post-event Russian Air Defence analysis separated the meteor track from approximately six other unidentified contacts that appeared in the Chelyabinsk airspace during the 48-hour window. The temporal proximity to one of Earth's most dramatic modern impact events gave the Chelyabinsk UAP reports particular scientific interest among researchers examining potential correlations between UAP activity and cosmic impact events.

KEY CHARACTERISTICS
  • 48-hour pre-meteor UAP reports from civilians and Air Defence
  • Russian Air Defence separated 6 unidentified contacts from meteor track
  • Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations received civilian reports
  • Temporal proximity to major cosmic impact event — scientific interest
  • Distinct objects on different trajectories confirmed by investigators
  • One of only documented cases of UAP activity around a meteor impact event

China Wuhan Unidentified Object Shootdown 2023

Wuhan, Hubei Province, China

In February 2023, during the same week the US military shot down multiple unidentified objects over North America, Chinese state media reported that PLAAF was tracking an unidentified flying object over Wuhan. Chinese authorities ordered preparations to shoot it down. The simultaneous global UAP shootdown/tracking events in the same week across multiple nations drew significant international intelligence attention. The coordination coincidence remains unexplained.

Yellow Sea — Spherical UAP High-Speed Video

Yellow Sea, East Asia

A classified video captured in 2022 over the Yellow Sea shows a spherical UAP moving at high speed. The footage, described by intelligence officials as among the clearest recorded encounters in the archive, is included in the May 2026 Pentagon release. The object's speed and flight characteristics were assessed as inconsistent with any known aerial platform.
