DECLASSIFIED DETAILS

On March 18, 1954, Cuban rural workers in the Camagüey province observed a disc-shaped craft land in a cane field. The craft remained on the ground for approximately 20 minutes, leaving a circular imprint in the soil and scorched vegetation. Cuban Batista-era military police responded to the workers' reports and investigated the physical evidence. Under the Batista government's US-aligned intelligence sharing arrangements, the incident was reported to American intelligence through diplomatic channels. The FBI's legal attaché office at the US Embassy in Havana compiled a report that was forwarded to Director Hoover. The physical evidence — soil impressions and scorched vegetation — was collected by Cuban military police but the material was never independently analyzed. The case represents one of the earliest documented Caribbean UAP incidents with simultaneous civilian and military observation and physical evidence collection. The 1959 Cuban Revolution subsequently made further cooperation on the case impossible.

Socorro, New Mexico — Lonnie Zamora Landing

Socorro, New Mexico, USA

Socorro police officer Lonnie Zamora observed a white oval craft with red insignia resting on legs in an arroyo, attended by two figures in white. He observed the craft take off with a roaring flame, become silent after 20 feet, and depart at high speed. Physical evidence — burned vegetation, soil compression, metal scrapings — was immediately confirmed by State Police and Army investigators. Project Blue Book listed this as 'unknown.'
