Hessdalen Scientific Monitoring Station 1999

The Hessdalen Valley in Norway has produced sustained UAP activity monitored by the world's only permanent scientific UAP observation station, established in 1998. Radar, photospectroscopy, magnetometers, and cameras have documented phenomena no conventional explanation accounts for.

RAF Lossiemouth Tornado Encounter 1999

RAF Lossiemouth, Scotland

An RAF Tornado GR4 crew encountered a disc at 20,000 feet over the North Sea. The aircraft's radar locked briefly before complete ECM failure. The MOD investigated and classified the encounter. RAF Lossiemouth was at the time home to nuclear-capable aircraft.

ROCAF Hualien Air Base Disc Intercept 1999

Hualien Air Base, Taiwan

ROCAF Mirage 2000-5 interceptors from Hualien Air Base encountered a metallic disc that demonstrated electronic countermeasures against the Mirage's Thomson-CSF RDY radar. Eastern Air Defense Command tracked the contact. The case was classified by the ROCAF. It represents one of the first documented engagements between advanced AESA-class radar and a UAP in Taiwanese airspace.

Beijing UFO Wave — Military Radar Confirmation 1999

Beijing, China

A major multi-hour UAP event over Beijing in June 1999 was tracked by People's Liberation Army Air Force radar stations and observed by multiple airline crews and thousands of residents. PLAAF scrambled fighter interceptors. The event contributed to the Chinese government's establishment of a UAP investigative program at Beijing Normal University. The incident was reported in Chinese state media and became the most publicly acknowledged UAP event in modern Chinese history.
