DECLASSIFIED DETAILS

On September 14, 2020 — exactly one year after the devastating Houthi drone attack on Abqaiq that temporarily took 5% of global oil production offline — unidentified luminous orbs performed extended maneuvers over the Abqaiq oil processing facility for 40 minutes. Saudi Aramco security personnel and Royal Saudi Air Force units monitored the objects, which performed a systematic inspection circuit of the facility's separation towers and pipelines at altitudes from 500 to 2,000 feet. US Central Command monitoring assets in the region tracked the incident simultaneously. Given Abqaiq's status as the most economically critical single facility on Earth — processing approximately 7% of global daily oil supply — the incident was escalated to CENTCOM awareness and classified under combined US-Saudi security protocols. The timing — anniversary of the 2019 attack — and the methodical inspection behavior pattern were noted as potentially significant in the classified assessment.

KEY CHARACTERISTICS
  • World's most critical oil facility
  • 7% of global daily oil supply at risk
  • Attack anniversary timing
  • CENTCOM and Saudi joint monitoring
  • Inspection circuit flight pattern over critical infrastructure

Gulf War UAP Reports — USCENTCOM Operational Records

Kuwait, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia theater of operations

During Operation Desert Storm, US and Coalition combat aircrews filed multiple reports of unidentified objects in the operational theater. USCENTCOM records, partially declassified, document objects that appeared on radar but did not match the transponder signatures of any Coalition aircraft. Several fighter pilots reported intercept attempts. The objects performed maneuvers that exceeded the capabilities of any known aircraft in the theater.
